The Centre for Advanced Study Sofia (CAS) is accepting applications for the Advanced Academia Fellowships for Bulgarian Scholars.
The scholarship program aims to promote research at the highest level and international knowledge transfer, increase qualifications and support the career development of young Bulgarian scientists in the humanities and social sciences.
Disciplinary, methodological and thematic constraints on project proposals will not be applied. Decisive for the selection are only the potential of the candidate and the quality of the project.
Fellows will have access to electronic and library resources and will be fully integrated into regular research seminars and discussions on current programs of the Center for Academic Research.
Benefits
Will be provided:
- Five 9-month scholarships for young Bulgarian researchers and teachers in the amount of EUR 800 per month;
- of which 1 month stay in a research institution abroad / Europe.
Conditions for Participation
- The requirement for the candidates is to be Bulgarian citizens and to have a defended doctoral dissertation;
- To be young scientists: postdoctoral students, assistants, research associates or associate professors with up to 12 years of experience after defending a dissertation;
- Excellent command of English;
- Having international experience and publications in prestigious scientific journals is an advantage.
Work Language
As an international scientific organization, CAS conducts the main part of its scientific activity in English. His good command is an essential prerequisite for the successful integration of the scholarship holder into the existing research teams and the seminars and discussions they conduct. For these reasons, only candidates with a good command of the language will be taken into account in the selection.
