Deadline: 09-Apr-21
Reporting Democracy has announced a call for applications for the 2021 Fellowship with the theme of Transformation.
Reporting Democracy is awarding 10 Fellowships to journalists from Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe who have an idea for a story that needs dedicated on-the-ground reporting, in-depth research, generous funding and sustained editorial attention to do it justice.
Reporting Democracy is run by the Balkan Investigative Reporting Network, a non-profit network promoting free speech, human rights and democratic values in Southern and Eastern Europe and beyond. The programme is supported by ERSTE Foundation, a creative workshop for ideas and innovation where critical journalism and free media are seen as crucial elements of functioning democracies.
Successful applicants will be chosen by an independent committee to take part in ten-month programme for professional development, culminating in the production of a compelling longform story to be published by BIRN and its media partners.
