The Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) has launched the applications for its Climate Corps Fellowship Program. The fellows gain real-world experience working at leading organizations on climate and energy projects.
Climate Corps fellows are graduate students who work with companies, public institutions and cities to identify opportunities to reduce emissions in their operations and supply chains and meet climate commitments.
Climate Corps Projects
- Zero emission vehicles: Targeted strategies to electrify medium and heavy-duty vehicle fleets
- Climate commitments: Cross-cutting strategies to reduce emissions including Net Zero, Science Based Targets, GHG accounting, and municipal climate planning
- Supply chain sustainability: Targeted strategies to reduce scope 3 emissions and engage suppliers on sustainability initiatives
- Renewables and energy efficiency: Targeted strategies to implement on-site and off-site renewable energy and scale energy efficiency
Compensation
- US fellows are paid $1,250 per week for 8-12 weeks, plus one week’s salary for participation in the Fellow Training. Salary will vary for China and India fellowships.
Qualifications
Climate Corps seeks top graduate students with analytical and project management backgrounds who are excited to make an impact through smart energy and climate solutions. Fellows are chosen for their ability to perform quantitative analyses, manage projects and help facilitate organizational change. Their core fellowship requirements are:
- At the time of application, enrolled in a graduate certificate or degree program studying business, engineering, sustainability, environmental management, public policy or other relevant subject
- At least 2 years of work experience
- Self-starter with project management and leadership experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills
- A passion for solving environmental challenges
- Eligibility to work in the United States during summer 2021.

Eligibility Criteria
- For US fellowships, candidates must be eligible to work in the United States during the summer. If you are an international student, please make it clear on your application that you are eligible to work in the United States.
- For China fellowships, candidates must be Chinese citizens or nationals from other countries who are currently registered in a Chinese university.
- For India fellowships, candidates must be Indian citizens or nationals from other countries who are currently registered in an Indian university.
