Deadline: 1-Sep-25
Young people across the globe are invited to apply for an inspiring new opportunity that blends creativity with environmental action. This program is designed to support youth-led projects that use the creative arts as the primary tool to raise awareness or drive action around critical issues affecting the ocean, waterways, and climate.
Unlike traditional environmental grants, this program places creative expression—such as visual art, music, performance, or storytelling—at the heart of each project. Applicants must ensure that their initiatives are centered around the arts as the main method of community engagement, education, or advocacy.
The initiative is more than just funding; it aims to build a global community of young changemakers. Selected fellows will receive mentorship, capacity-building support, and opportunities to connect with like-minded peers. The goal is to foster youth empowerment, encourage mental well-being, and inspire creative leadership in tackling today’s environmental crises.
Successful applicants will work closely with mentors from the Future Blue Youth Council (FBYC) and program staff. Fellows are expected to join monthly cohort meetings, participate in an online community, and attend a virtual orientation scheduled for Saturday, January 3, 2026. Regular check-ins, quarterly project reports, and a blog post are also part of the commitment.
This fellowship is open to young individuals or groups aged 13 to 24 from anywhere in the world. All applications must be submitted in English. Projects can be brand new or up to two years old, as long as they use art as a central method for environmental change and focus on protecting oceans, water systems, or the climate.
Applications will be evaluated based on alignment with the program’s goals, project clarity, depth of issue understanding, and potential for measurable impact. The selection committee will also review feasibility, budget, and timeline realism.
This is a unique opportunity for creative young minds to turn their talents into powerful tools for environmental activism—while building a network of support, learning, and global impact.
