Deadline: 21-May-23
The One Young World is pleased to announce an open call for the Leading Northern Ireland Scholarship Program.
The One Young World Summit 2023 will be held in the vibrant city of Belfast. Belfast is a city renowned for its resilience and optimism. Having emerged from decades of conflict due to the courage and resilience of its people; the city and its people understand the importance of leadership. 2023 marks the 25th anniversary of the Belfast Good Friday Agreement.
With nearly 40% of its population under 30 years old, Northern Ireland has a generation of talented, responsible, and civically minded young people who are driving positive social change for a better future. As the Summit once again welcomes attendees from 190+ countries, it is critical to ensure the representation of young Northern Irish leaders who are making a positive impact in their communities.
Building on successful efforts to enhance the participation of host nation delegates, the Leading Northern Ireland Scholarship provides young people from across Northern Ireland, who are not already affiliated with OYW partner organisations, funding to participate in the One Young World Summit 2023 and join the One Young World Community.
The Leading Northern Ireland Scholarship will look to provide as many places as possible for young Northern Irish Leaders, and is actively seeking the support of a coalition of sponsors from all sectors to increase the number of scholarship places available.
