Objectives
- Their communities are leading their own initiatives
- Young people are engaged, have a voice and contribute positively to local life
- Whanau and tamariki well-being is strengthened
- Maori are engaged in creating and sharing the benefits of a fairer new economy for south Auckland
- Young people have the skills and training needed for quality, sustainable employment

- They provide funds for young people in the Manurewa Local Board area for learning and development opportunities.
- Applicants seeking the following support are encouraged to apply:
- Towards rangatahi youth health and well-being.
- Towards technology resources.
- Towards learning and development opportunities to build leadership experience within your community.
- Towards the development of your own social enterprise or community project.
- Towards attending conferences, programmes, or training for personal development (such as climate change, leadership, social innovation, youth development, wellness, arts, culture, trade, sports, and media).
- Towards running an event or programme in response to community interest and need.
- Towards education and tertiary related fees.

Eligibility Criteria
- To be eligible to apply for the grant, you must:
- If you are aged between 12 and 24 years old, you can apply for a grant:
- to move into further education, or trade or vocational training
- for leadership or youth development.
- have a meaningful connection to the Manurewa Local Board area
- be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident
- include a letter from your school principal, teacher, tutor, community leader, or employer in support of your application.
Accountability Measures
- All successful applicants must:
- include the Manurewa Local Board logo on their publicity and promotional material, with the words “funded by / part funded by Manurewa Local Board”
- be available to work with Auckland Council staff on media coverage
- provide at least one photograph of the event or activity.
- Additionally, successful applicants can provide a verbal report at a Manurewa Local Board business meeting.
