The Roma Education Fund – an organizational unit of the Roma Education Fund – Roma Oktatási Alap – has announced a call for applications for support in the Support for Education and Acquisition of Skills for Young Roma program.
In the academic year 2021/2022, support will be provided to 25 young Roma students of external studies from the Banská Bystrica, Košice and Prešov regions who are unemployed and want to additionally increase their education acquired in the past, and thus increase their chances of employment or better placed in the labor market.
The intention of REF is to increase the number of Roma with completed secondary vocational education through the implementation of the project.
Roma Education Fund implements a project called Support for education and acquisition of skills of young Roma people April 2018. The total implementation period of the project is 5 years, the period lasts from 1 April 2018 to 31 December 2022, ie it includes 4 school years. The project is being implemented in Hungary, Romania and Slovakia.

- tuition
- support during the study
- training aimed at acquiring personal skills (soft-skills)
- job search assistance
Eligibility Criteria
- Roma origin of the applicant
- age from 20 to 35 years
- an external high school student in the school year 2021/2022 in a field that is currently required by the labor market
- unemployed
- permanent residence within the Banská Bystrica, Košice and Prešov regions.
