The ASEAN Women Impact Social Entrepreneurship (WISE) Fellowship is year-long fellowship to support changemakers and their social enterprises tackling UN SDGs #1 No Poverty, #5 Gender Equality, and #12 Responsible Consumption with a focus on women and indigenous communities.
Volunteer Time & Skills
- The fellowship is looking for talented, passionate, and committed individuals to join forces with the ASEAN WISE Fellows to prepare social enterprises to scale.
- Do applicants have skills in sales and marketing, business strategy, and / or finance?
- Are applicants empathetic, humble, and open to learning?
- Do applicants want to build long-lasting relationships with social entrepreneurs in their region?
- If this sounds like you, the fellowship would love to hear from you. The fellowship is searching for volunteers to commit 1-2 hours per week for 10 months in 2021 to work closely with the social enterprises. The result of this arrangement for the first cohort of 2018 Fellows yielded meaningful, long-lasting relationships between fellows and skilled volunteers!
Benefits
- As part of the second cohort, applicants will select corporate partners from the Angels of Impact network to further prepare business for investment, boost sales, and enhance marketing.
- Fellows also have access to capacity-building workshops, market access and funding opportunities, and a community of learning.
- In short, the fellowship seeks to help women and indigenous entrepreneurs unlock funds that will catalyze their positive impact on communities in Southeast Asia.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Fellowship is looking for medium-sized, women or indigenous-led, community-based social enterprises that work to end poverty via the creative economy sector. Here is a complete list of eligibility criteria:
- Is applicants business women-led and/or women-owned?
- Is it community-based and impacting women? (Special priority for those focused on indigenous communities)
- Is applicants business in the creative economy (sustainable/regenerative textiles, artisanal or handmade goods)?
- Is applicants venture generating revenue (more than 2 years)?
- Does applicants business aggregate value of other artisans or micro-businesses?
- Do applicants address SDGs #1, #5 or #12?
- Is applicants business in a country that is part of ASEAN?
- Two businesses from each ASEAN country will be selected for the fellowship.
