The Unitarian Universalist Service Committee (UUSC) is currently accepting applications for its 2020 Human Rights Innovation Fellowship on the topic “Human Rights in Burma”.
The specific focus of the Innovation Fellowship this year is Collaboration on the Right to Belonging and Inclusion in Burma, aligning with UUSC’s Protecting Human Rights in Burma initiative, which focuses on partnering with locally-led grassroots groups to protect the rights of ethnic and religious minorities in Burma.
The proposed projects should meet the following criteria:
- Be created by two or more organizations collaborating on the project proposal;
- Align with the theme of Collaboration on the Right to Belonging and Inclusion in Burma;
- Be consistent with UUSC’s mission and vision; and
- Be led by impacted community members, in alignment with UUSC’s partnership model.
Funding Information
A grant of $25,000 USD to support the collaborative project.
Eligibility Criteria
- The application is open to charitable organizations (non-profit, non-governmental, civil society organizations) with an innovative project that is relevant to the Fellowship’s theme.
- In addition to the criteria elaborated above, UUSC will use the following criteria to select the winner of the Innovation Fellowship grant:
- Alignment with the theme: Collaboration on the Right to Belonging and Inclusion in Burma
- UUSC’s approach and values: The application must reflect UUSC’s values and be compatible with UUSC’s approach to Protecting Human Rights in Burma.
- Impact: The project must positively impact or benefit affected communities in terms of scale and/or scope.
- Applicant’s track record: The applicant must have a demonstrated track record that indicates knowledge, competency, and experience in the Fellowship’s thematic area.
- Creativity of innovation: The application will be judged by the extent to which the project is new, different, or timely.
