The International Specialised Skills Institute (ISS Institute) is seeking applications for the Australian VET Sustainability Fellowship Program for vocational education and training.
The VDC works in partnership with the International Specialised Skills Institute by funding the Australian VET Sustainability Fellowship for Vocational Education & Training [VET]. The Fellowship program focuses on developing opportunities for the VET sector to support sustainable practices and innovation. This involves researching what innovations are occurring overseas and what products, services or processes are being adopted to generate long term social and environmental benefits.
Types of Fellowships
International Specialised Skills Institute (ISS Institute) are offering two Fellowships in 2023:
- International Travel Fellowship
- This involves travelling abroad to research new skills and best practice in areas such as clean and alternative energy, upcycling, recycling, innovative technologies and sustainable processes and procedures etc, then disseminate the findings to the Australian VET sector upon return.
- Desktop Research Fellowship
- This provides the opportunity for VET Practitioners to learn international best practice without travel. The ideal candidate has a strong research agenda that can be conducted online and/or within Australia.
- The Fellowship can be completed through online conferences, short-courses, zoom interviews or meetings with national / international experts, and/or use the funds to assist desktop learning and research.
Funding Information
- International Fellowship valued at $15,000.
- Desktop Research Fellowship valued at $7,500.
Eligibility Criteria
- VET practitioners who are employed within a national Registered Training Organisation (RTO), including TAFEs and private RTOs.
- Academic researchers with sustainability expertise whose applied research will have an impact on the VET sector.
- Applicants welcome from all Australian states and territories provided they have an Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency.
