Deadline: 5-May-22
The Wipro Foundation is inviting applications for the Wipro Education Fellowship Program designed to contribute to the systemic improvement of Indian school education by supporting early stage civil society organizations (CSOs) focused on school education.
The program selects and supports committed and capable individuals and teams who share their vision of quality education being available to every Indian child. They provide a 3-year founder’s fellowship to set up effective educational NGOs in domains and geographies of their choice.
Selected fellows are supported with a fellowship stipend, workshops and mentoring from partner resource organizations for capacity building, and access to networking opportunities with other educational CSOs within their partner network.
Please Note: The Fellowship is offered to a maximum of three founders/leaders of an organization. We expect Fellows to be working full-time on the initiative and be holding a leadership/decision-making role within the organization. If there is more than one applicant from the same organization/initiative, each individual is requested to register on the platform and fill the form separately.
Nature of Support:
- Number of Fellowship per Organization: A maximum of 3 Founders per organization will be supported through the Seeding Fellowship at a time. In cases where multiple fellowships are requested for the same organization/initiative, the start date of all the fellowships cannot be staggered for over a year. This is to encourage Fellows to form strong teams as soon as possible and also ensure that the founders have at least 2 years of overlap within the Seeding Program.
- Quantum, Mode, and Duration of Financial Support: The financial support would be provided for up to 3 years from the date of signing the MoU and would amount to approximately Rs 3.6 lakhs/year, paid in the form of quarterly stipends.
- Conditions for Continued Support: The continued support with stipend would be subject to adherence to the clauses of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Fellow and Wipro and satisfactory progress on the plans submitted during the selection stage (including an organizational development plan); as determined by periodic reviews and discussions; and a detailed annual review. Depending on the outcome of these reviews, we may further extend the support to the seeded-organizations, after the 3-year term is over, on a case-to-case basis.
Eligibility Criteria
- The organization must be working with the government school system or have concrete plans to engage with the government school system in the next 12 months.

- Fellows must have a long-term commitment to working in the specified domain and geography (a minimum of three years).
