Deadline: 30-Nov-2025
The Direct Aid Program (DAP) overseen by the Australian High Commission Fiji is now accepting applications for small-scale sustainable development projects in Fiji.
This funding stream offers a platform for community groups and organisations working with vulnerable and disadvantaged populations—such as women, children, youth and people with disabilities—to implement initiatives focused on health, education, water and sanitation, disaster resilience and inclusion.
Grants of up to AUD 60,000 (approximately FJD 89,000) are available to eligible non-profit community groups for projects completed within six months of funding. The programme encourages applications that are community-led, have local support, and include in-kind contributions such as materials, labour or transport. Priority is given to initiatives that are achievable, sustainable and avoid long-term recurring costs. Applicants must submit their proposals via the online SmartyGrants platform and include clear plans for impact, risk management and inclusive design.
Projects that focus on building local capacity, strengthening social inclusion or improving infrastructure through manageable investments stand out in the selection process. Transparent financial accountability is required, and selected recipients must provide progress and final reports and allow site visits by Australian High Commission representatives. This funding opportunity represents a valuable chance for Fiji-based community organisations to access external support, partner with the Australian Government’s development agenda and make lasting improvements in vulnerable communities across Fiji.
