The National Center for Interprofessional Practice and Education is seeking nominations for the 2018 Nexus Award.
The Nexus Award celebrates exemplary interprofessional practice in the US and those who are thinking and acting differently where education and practice connect in health and health care.
The award recognizes an educational institution, health system, clinic, and/or community organization for extraordinary contributions to the Nexus– linking health professions education and interprofessional practice to transform care delivery, improve health outcomes, and decrease costs.
Award Benefit
Award recipient will receive:
- $5000 monetary award
- One complimentary registration to the Nexus Summit 2018
- One complimentary registration to the Nexus Summit 2019
Eligibility Criteria
- The initiative or practice model must demonstrate key elements of the Nexus, such as:
- Share a vision
- Integrate clinical practice and health professions education in innovative ways that fosters culture change
- Deliberately focus on achieving improved health care outcomes for patients, improved health of communities, and decreased overall health care costs
- Cultivate engagement of senior leadership
- Partner with patients, families, and communities for interprofessional practice and education
- Demonstrate benefit of the initiative or practice model for students, residents and practice site
- The initiative or practice model must have two years of operational experience (as of April 1, 2018).
- A representative of the initiative or practice model must be able to attend Nexus Summit 2018: Creating Results: Interprofessional Vision to Action July 29-31 and share highlights from the initiative or practice model in a plenary presentation on July 31 during the Nexus Award Celebration at the Summit (representative will receive free admission to entire Summit conference).
