The Novo Nordisk Foundation has announced applications for Postdoc Fellowships in Nursing Research. These fellowships aim to support ambitious researchers conducting excellent research that significantly contributes to nursing research in Denmark.
The areas supported include nursing research on disease prevention, health promotion, treatment methods, rehabilitation, palliative care, and nursing aspects of management and organization within the healthcare system. The overall goal is to improve human health. These fellowships provide young scientists in nursing research with an opportunity to advance their careers in this field.
A total of DKK 7.3 million is available, funding up to three grants of DKK 2.43 million each. The research project must be a full-time, three-year postdoc project. Applicants must include a detailed budget requesting DKK 2.43 million.
Eligible costs cover salary for the main applicant and research technicians or nurses. Operating expenses include materials, equipment, statistics, and data processing. Travel expenses for conferences and workshops are allowed up to DKK 25,000 per budget year. Other travel expenses, such as study abroad stays, must be detailed and documented by the host institution.
Publication costs are supported up to DKK 25,000 per year. Bench fees can cover direct research expenses and must be specified. Administrative support can account for up to 5% of the total budget and must be included.
Ineligible costs include commercial activities, overhead or indirect costs such as rent and utilities, and double funding of projects. Applicants must disclose any other funding received for the proposed project, and any overlapping proposals submitted to other funding bodies must be noted. The Foundation must be informed if other funding is received after application submission. Expenses related to mentors or supervisors are also ineligible.
Applicants must be registered nurses with a PhD or similar qualification, or have their PhD accepted for defense by the application deadline. The PhD must be obtained before the fellowship starts. There is no limit on how long ago the PhD was awarded.
Applicants must be affiliated with a university, hospital, or nonprofit research institution in Denmark during the fellowship. The mentor, supervisor, or group leader and the hosting institution must be named in the application and agree to participate.
Assessment will consider the applicant’s qualifications, the research environment, supervision quality, and the scientific quality, originality, methods, and feasibility of the project.
