Deadline: 18-Aug-2025
United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund has launched a Call for Expression of Interest under the Nurture, Empower, and Protect (NEP) programme, seeking a qualified Civil Society Organization (CSO) to implement key components of the Nutrition pillar in Montserrado, Grand Gedeh, and River Cess counties in Liberia.
The focus is on Nutrition – general, addressing the interconnected Nutrition and Sexual Reproductive Health & Rights (SRHR) needs of adolescent girls, and tackling constraints preventing them from realizing their full potential. The initiative is aligned with Liberia’s national development plan (ARREST and Agenda for Inclusive Development 2025-2029), the Liberia Multisectoral Nutrition Costed Strategic Plan 2025-2028, UNFPA and UNICEF Country Programmes, and the Irish Aid Country Strategy for Liberia.
The programme aims to enhance adolescent nutrition interventions through the Working to Improve Nutrition at Scale (WINS) model, which combines approaches in schools, health facilities, and community-based nutrition services. Key objectives include increasing adolescent girls’ access to quality adolescent-friendly services, supporting community and school-based nutrition education, creating adolescent innovation spaces, promoting life skills and empowerment, and engaging adolescents in data generation through the U-Report platform.
The selected partner will be expected to deliver a package of direct nutrition interventions (nutrition education, deworming, iron and folic acid supplementation), train Government and Community Health Workers, foster adolescent-led innovations such as school and community gardens, support mentorship programmes, and mobilize adolescent champions to drive behaviour change.
