Deadline: 15-Sep-2025
The Victoria Remembers Grant is now open for applications to support and commemorate veterans while preserving war heritage. Projects should aim to honour the service and sacrifice of veterans or educate Victorians about their contributions in impactful ways.
Priority is given to projects that effectively commemorate or educate about veterans’ service, particularly those targeting women, First Nations people, LGBTIQA+ veterans, culturally and linguistically diverse veterans, veterans with disabilities, or those affected by mental health challenges due to service. Projects focusing on post-1990 Australian Defence Force operations and fostering collaborative partnerships are encouraged. All projects must be completed within 12 months of the signed agreement and preferably include in-kind contributions, especially from organisations with significant revenue streams.
Funding is available for activities taking place between 1 January 2026 and 31 December 2026, with a maximum application value of $30,000 (excluding GST). Projects cannot begin before the expected funding announcement in November 2025, and previous funding does not guarantee future support. Incomplete applications will not be considered, and organisations with revenue from electronic gaming are ineligible.
Eligible applicants must have a valid Australian Business Number (ABN) or provide written advice from the Australian Taxation Office confirming no withholding tax applies. They must be registered not-for-profits under relevant incorporation laws, or be unincorporated but auspiced by an incorporated organisation. Local councils and social enterprises with a mission supporting veterans’ welfare and wellbeing may also apply, provided they submit their constitution and evidence of their social enterprise impact model.
Organisations must primarily provide welfare or wellbeing services to the ex-service community in Victoria, be financially solvent, and be based in Australia, with projects delivered in Victoria. Ineligible applicants include government departments, individuals, sole traders, certain commercial entities, non-compliant past grant recipients, groups whose projects fall under another Victorian department, and hospitals or health service organisations.
