Funds raised through the Race Against Suicide Raceday will now support programs, services, and initiatives that actively contribute to suicide prevention in the Illawarra region.
The focus areas include directly contributing to suicide prevention in the Illawarra region, supporting at-risk individuals, groups, or communities, promoting mental health and resilience, enhancing access to mental health support or crisis services, collaborating with local stakeholders or services, and ensuring measurable outcomes and impact.
A total pool of $38,270 has been made available through this tender process. Local organisations, community groups, service providers, and programs are invited to apply for funding, either individually or jointly, depending on the scale and impact of their projects. Funding may be used for project delivery, staffing, resources, promotion, training, or other related costs as justified in proposals.
The process begins with an Expression of Interest submission, due by 5pm on Tuesday, 16th September 2025. Shortlisted applicants will be notified by 1st October 2025 and invited to submit full proposals by 16th October 2025. Final decisions will be announced on 17th November 2025, with successful projects commencing no later than 5th January 2026 and completing by 4th January 2027.
Eligible applicants must be registered organisations, programs, or services operating in the Illawarra region with experience in mental health, suicide prevention, or community wellbeing, and must meet all legal, financial, and reporting obligations. Selected organisations will be required to provide mid-project and final reports, participate in evaluation processes, and acknowledge the funding source in all public materials.
