The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), an agency of Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking applications from eligible organisations for a program entitled “Building the Capacity of the Government of Suriname to Address Gaps in the HIV Continuum of Care for Key Populations and People Living with HIV (PLHIV) under the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR)” with an aim to provide ongoing support to the Government of Suriname to reduce HIV transmission and increase the proportion of PLHIV who are virally suppressed.
The activities will specifically target Key Populations (KPs) – men who have sex with men (MSM), Commercial Sex Workers (CSW) and PLHIV. This FOA will address gaps along the national Continuum of Prevention Care and Treatment (CoPCT) with emphasis on strengthening linkage and retention programs for PLHIV and KPs.
Emphasis will be placed on piloting and adopting strategies to facilitate re-engagement of PLHIV lost follow up, link them to good quality services and retain PLHIV in care. The Government of Suriname in its HIV/AIDS Strategic Plan 2014 – 2020 has identified among its priorities the need to reduce HIV transmission among key and vulnerable populations group; expand high quality comprehensive HIV treatment, care and support and improve use of data and information to inform decision making.

Expected Outcomes
