Deadline: 22-Aug-2025
The Global Health Advocacy Incubator (GHAI) is inviting civil society organizations (CSOs) from Uganda to join its Cardiovascular Health (CVH) Program. The initiative focuses on advocating for mandatory policies that reduce the consumption of ultra-processed products, with an emphasis on eliminating industrially produced trans-fatty acids (iTFA) from the food supply through the adoption of best practice legislation.
GHAI works to reduce preventable deaths and improve health outcomes on a large scale by advancing public health policies and strengthening systems. The organization empowers CSOs and advocacy movements to pass lifesaving health policies, promote investment in public health, and create a more equitable and healthier future. GHAI operates as part of the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids.
Under its Food and Nutrition Program, GHAI’s CVH team has led advocacy efforts in Africa, Asia, and the Americas to promote evidence-based policies. These policies aim to support healthy, sustainable food systems and uphold everyone’s right to nutritious food.
Eligible applicants are CSOs based in Uganda that understand the country’s government and advocacy systems. Interested organizations should have experience in promoting healthy food systems and defending the right to access nutritious food. GHAI particularly encourages applications from groups committed to reducing reliance on ultra-processed foods and holding the food and beverage industry accountable for their impact on public health and the environment.
