Deadline: 31-Aug-2025
The Chapman Charitable Trust (CCT) provides grant support to registered UK charities that align with its core priorities and areas of focus.
The focus areas are promoting physical and mental wellbeing, conserving the natural environment and promoting the sustainable use of resources, and increasing the accessibility of the arts, especially for young people.
CCT only supports registered UK charities, including national and Scottish charities that operate across the UK, as well as local charities if their beneficiaries or activities are located in North Wales or South East England, which includes Greater London, Herts, Cambs, Essex, Kent, East and West Sussex, Surrey, and Hants. Educational or research establishments with charitable status are also eligible. However, the Trust does not consider applications from individuals, Community Interest Companies (CICs), Community Amateur Sports Clubs (CASCs), cooperative societies, or not-for-profit organisations.
Most of the grants awarded are in the range of £1,000, £2,000, or £3,000. Larger grants are generally reserved for charities with special oversight from the trustees or those originally supported by the benefactor, Marjorie Chapman. These larger grants are usually made on a regular basis, either yearly or half-yearly.
Applications are reviewed twice a year, in March and September. Applicants will first receive an automatic confirmation email after submission, and following the trustees’ meeting, they will be notified of the outcome. Successful applicants may apply again only after 18 months have passed, while those who are unsuccessful can reapply at any time.
