The Department of Health and Human Services, Centres for Disease Control is seeking applications for its “Strengthening Health System Capacity for the Use of Human Resources for Health Data for Implementing HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment Programs in the Republic of South Africa under the United States President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR)”.
This Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) aims to enhance the use of Human Resources for Health (HRH) data for evidence-based decision making on health workforce management and strategic planning within the South African National and Provincial Departments of Health (NDOH/DOH).
Strategies
- Strengthen HRH registry to inform strategic workforce management decisions
- Strengthen the HPCSA regulatory information system for enhanced HRH regulatory functions
- Operationalizing interoperability between HRIS sub-systems
- Establish a functional HRH data warehouse
- Develop and implement protocol and training material data quality improvement and use
