The VicHealth is accepting nominations for Victorian Health Promotion Awards to showcase your great work in keeping people healthy and sharing your ideas to inspire others in Victoria to do the same.
The Victorian Health Promotion Awards recognise the incredible contribution that organisations and individuals make to create happier and healthier communities across Victoria.
This award aims recognises unpaid volunteers that provide amazing service to the Victorian community.
Categories
This year, the Awards will recognise the positive and outstanding impact organisations and individuals have made across 8 different health promotion categories, including:
- Outstanding Health Promotion Award
- Driving Health Equity Award
- Building Back Better Award
- Future Healthy Award
- Community Legend Award
- Leading Health Promotion Research Award
- Outstanding Media Reporting Award
- Stephen Walter Excellence in Health Promotion Marketing Award
- Future Changemaker Award
Eligibility Criteria
- VicHealth encourages applications from any individual and/or organisation that thinks their operation and/or project work – undertaken within the eligible nomination timeframe – embodies their definition of health promotion.
- All entries must relate to organisations, initiatives and/or individuals doing work that benefits the health and wellbeing of the Victorian community through health promotion.
- Health promotion is the act of supporting governments, communities, and individuals to cope with and address health challenges to prevent disease and to improve health and wellbeing. They’re looking for research working on improving physical and mental health by tackling issues such as, but not limited to, access to healthy food, keeping communities active and bringing people together to increase social connection. They’re also interested in work that has helped reduce use and harm from alcohol, junk food, tobacco, vaping and gambling products as well as illicit drugs.
- They won’t be considering research initiatives on the prevention or treatment of specific diseases or addictions.
- This award is an ideal opportunity for early career researchers. Applying for this award may help advance the health promotion research sector and be an added benefit to a young researcher’s CV.
- The judges’ decision will be final.
- The entrant acknowledges and agrees that VicHealth may reproduce, broadcast and communicate materials submitted for the purpose of promoting the award.
