Bio-NEST NIPER Guwahati announces Ideathon # 4: IdeaFest to encourage and support innovative ideas in the field of life sciences and healthcare.
The Scope of Ideas
- The scope includes any idea/ innovation related to life sciences, nanoscience, health care, Pharmaceutics, medical biotechnology, and other fields of biotechnology including food, agriculture, etc.
- The proposed innovation must have a need in the market or fulfill a wider societal need. This Ideathon is not for basic research.
Award Information
- Top 3 ideas will be awarded prize money of INR 25,000, 20,000, and 15,000 respectively.
- Top 3 ideas will be provided pre-incubation support (facility to develop a proof of concept from an idea) for six months and a preincubation support fund of INR 75,000 with the following breakup:
- Fellowship @ INR 2,500/Month (Total INR 15,000)
- Rental of incubation center @ Rs 2,500/Month (Total INR 15,000)
- Up to INR 30,000 for consumables from NIPER Guwahati
- Instrument user charges up to INR 8,000
- Mentoring the ideas for financial support from different agencies
- Mentorship charges up to INR 7,000
- If for any reason the team decides to discontinue the project in the first 3 months, then all the unutilized assets should be returned to NIPER Guwahati with immediate effect.
Eligibility Criteria
- The Ideathon is open to all irrespective of their qualification, affiliation, gender, geographical location, and educational background.
- The applicants may apply as an individual, team of individuals, business entity, or as a society.
- When applying as a group, business entity, or society, the project must identify a project leader among them, for further interactions with NIPER Guwahati.
Terms and Conditions
- The decision of the Panel of Experts will be final and binding with regard to selection at all stages.
- By making a submission in the contest, all participants warrant and represent that to the best of their knowledge, their submission is original and does not violate or misappropriate any third-party trade secret, “know-how,” copyright, patent or other intellectual property rights. Participants also warrant and represent that there are no obligations of any nature, legal or otherwise, which would prohibit, restrict, or interfere with their participation in the contest or submission of their design report, and agree to obtain any necessary clearances, authorizations and/or approvals prior to participation.
- The participants agree that NIPER Guwahati will share information submitted by the participants to a panel of experts, reviewers, etc. (any information that you may not want to share with these members should not be submitted).
- NIPER Guwahati does not claim ownership over Intellectual Property Right (IPR) for the Innovation that is sent to them by submitting an application. The IPR shall remain with the applicant at all times.
- NIPER Guwahati reserves the right to publish the grantee’s information with regard to
- Title of the project,
- Brief summary,
- Deliverables
- Principle investigator,
- Team, etc.
- The selected applicants for Pre-Incubation Support shall sign a separate agreement with NIPER Guwahati for initiating their works as incubatee of Bio-NEST.
