Nominations are now open for the Minister for Health and Wellbeing – Excellence in Public Health Awards.
The Minister for Health and Wellbeing – Excellence in Public Health Awards celebrate council initiatives across South Australia that have resulted in outstanding contributions to public health in local communities. These awards showcase councils’ critical role in promoting, preserving and protecting good health and wellbeing for their communities through public health action.
Categories
- The awards are judged in two categories:
- Regional
- Metropolitan.
Funding Information
- Award winners will receive a prize of $3000 which must be spent on furthering public health initiatives in their local council area(s).
Eligibility Criteria
- The awards are open to all local councils in South Australia.
- Awards will be judged against two separate ‘metropolitan’ and ‘regional’ categories with prizes for each.
- To work out what category you should apply for, look at Local Government Association (LGA) classifications
- Councils can nominate a maximum of three separate initiatives for the awards.
- Groups of councils can put in a joint application.
- Each application must be for a single public health initiative.
- The initiative can be an existing project or program of core public health business and/or a new approach developed to address identified local public health needs.
