The Objective of this award to unite Women through the recognition and celebration of excellence, inspiration and relentless progression. With a FOCUS on IMPACT!

Categories & Criteria

Entrepreneurship: This category will recognise a woman who is building or leading a successful, growing and dynamic business (small or large scale), possesses entrepreneurial leadership skills and has used these to dynamically influence other people. Her business must have been in existence for 0-3 years with measurable impact on clientele and the public in general.
Agriculture: This category will recognise a woman involved in utilizing fresh produce, crops and agricultural by-products in an innovative way to economically expand the growing agricultural sector. Her business must have eased the process of obtaining fresh produce, crops and agricultural by-products thereby making the sector more employable and lucrative.
Arts: This category will recognise a creative woman in the visual arts world who is known for constantly producing or curating outstanding art work which includes drawings, paintings, pictures and sculptures. She must have drawn awareness to the Nigerian art scene through successful exhibitions, export of Nigerian art and a frequent showcase of impactful contemporary work.
Creative: This category will recognise a woman dedicated to inspiring people through her talents which may be song-writing, written or performed poetry and writing (fiction or non-fiction).
Broadcast & Journalism: This category will recognise a woman in broadcast and journalism who seeks to highlight unique stories of individuals and occurrences in society.
Music & Entertainment: This category will recognise a woman of any music genre or comedian who has inspired feelings of happiness, hope and liveliness. She must be a source of inspiration by using her talent to incite emotion in people.
Hospitality: This category will recognise and celebrate a woman in the hospitality sector who constantly shows passion for her dedication to event planning, curating unique social experiences and tourism related activities. She must inspire people through a genuine love and knowledge for her field of work and have measurable impact through client experience.
Future: This category will recognise a young female entrepreneur below the age of 25 who lives an untold story of passion and perseverance towards a project or business. This young woman must be a graduate or undergraduate and have a good reputation with a high potential of building a successful business or platform.
Beauty: This category will recognise a woman in the skin care and beauty sector with a zeal for providing proven skincare solutions and empowerment through a standard of beauty that others resonate with.
Tech: This category is dedicated to a woman who has created innovative solutions in the tech industry for the benefit of businesses in other sectors or individuals. She must be directly involved in developing solutions and measurable impact by successful case studies.
Philanthropy: This category will recognise a woman focused on giving back to the society for any legitimate socio-economic cause, either by means of a foundation or as an individual. She must have made a visible and measurable impact in the lives of people or a community in the spheres of welfare, education and economic potential.
Sports: This category will honour a remarkable female sport athlete active in any recognised national or international sport or fitness-related activity. She must have a reputable image, must inspire others through her love for sport and must have shown consistency in her endeavours.
Career: This category will recognise and celebrate a professional career woman who works in the private or public sector and through her position, has impacted lives positively.
Healthcare: This category will recognise a woman in the health sector who depicts passion and dedication in her profession to care for the lives of people and health-related situations.
Film & Television: This category will recognise a woman focused on impacting to the society through the stories she tells in film or television (Scriptwriting/Directing/Producing).
Start-Up: This category will recognise and celebrate a woman who has identified and specialises in a niche through which she positively impacts lives via the operations of such business or platform. She must run a structured business with the potential to scale business operations which show elements of innovation and creativity.
Lifetime: This category will recognise a woman (above 50 years) who has not only been consistent in being a leader in her sector, but has also been a pillar of support and mentor for millennials who aspire to emulate her. She must be 50 years or over with a well respected image and valuable experience in her industry.
Advocacy: This category is dedicated to a woman who is enthusiastic about changing the public narrative regarding social, political or economic rights. She must be directly involved in advocating on behalf of people who require an intermediary in situations or occurrences.
Film & Television: This category will recognise a woman focused on impacting to the society through the stories she tells in film or television (Scriptwriting/Directing/Producing).
Start-Up: This category will recognise and celebrate a woman who has identified and specialises in a niche through which she positively impacts lives via the operations of such business or platform.
Lifetime: This category will recognise a woman (above 50 years) who has not only been consistent in being a leader in her sector, but has also been a pillar of support and mentor for millennials who aspire to emulate her.
Advocacy: This category is dedicated to a woman who is enthusiastic about changing the public narrative regarding social, political or economic rights.
Social Media (Global Vote):This unique category is dedicated to celebrating a woman who will be selected from a pool of outstanding women, from all spheres of life, within and outside Nigeria (globally).
The Woman of the Year 2017: This category is dedicated to honouring a woman of sophistication, style and resilience for hard work in comprising life and business situations.
