Deadline: 17-Oct-2025
The European Science Foundation is opening a new call under the Fight Kids Cancer programme for 2025–2026, focusing exclusively on sarcoma.
This initiative seeks to accelerate progress in research and treatment for childhood sarcomas, a group of rare cancers that require innovative approaches to improve survival and quality of life for young patients. By targeting sarcoma specifically, the call provides a unique opportunity for researchers to direct their expertise and resources toward one of the most pressing challenges in pediatric oncology.
The programme aims to support groundbreaking projects that can transform the landscape of treatment and care. It encourages researchers across Europe and beyond to collaborate, share expertise, and push the boundaries of scientific discovery. Proposals are expected to address key gaps in understanding and managing sarcoma in children, whether through clinical research, translational studies, or preparatory work that can lay the foundation for larger initiatives.
For this call, the following limits on funding and project duration apply. Clinical trials may receive up to 5 million euros for a maximum of five years. Translational research projects may be awarded up to 2 million euros for a duration of up to four years. Trial preparation grants are available up to 0.25 million euros for a period of up to two years, and these are strictly non-extendable and non-renewable.
Through this targeted call, the Fight Kids Cancer programme is providing not only financial support but also a platform to foster international collaboration in the fight against pediatric sarcomas. The ultimate goal is to ensure that children facing this rare cancer benefit from innovative treatments and improved care, offering new hope for patients and families.
