Deadline: 09-Nov-2025
The World Food Programme (WFP) has announced a call for proposals to select a cooperating partner to support resilience-building and malnutrition-reduction activities in Burkina Faso’s Sahel region.
This opportunity focuses on implementing integrated resilience programs in the Soum Region, specifically within the Djelgodji and Karo-Péri provinces, covering the communes of Djibo and Arbinda.
Through this partnership, WFP aims to strengthen community resilience and improve food security through the Food Assistance for Assets (FFA) approach. The selected partner will be responsible for organizing and monitoring on-the-ground activities that combine food assistance with productive asset creation. This includes supporting communities in developing sustainable livelihoods, enhancing food systems, and ensuring that project participants receive food distributions as part of the program’s implementation.
The initiative is designed to contribute to long-term stability and food self-sufficiency in one of Burkina Faso’s most vulnerable regions, where climate shocks and insecurity have disrupted livelihoods. By linking food support with development-oriented asset creation, WFP seeks to empower local communities and reduce reliance on emergency assistance.
Eligible organizations must be non-profit NGOs or associations that are duly registered and operational in Burkina Faso, particularly within the identified intervention zones. Only NGOs and associations already selected from WFP’s official roster are eligible to apply. The chosen partner will work closely with local authorities, technical services, and beneficiary communities to ensure the smooth and effective execution of the project’s integrated resilience activities.
