Deadline: 08-Aug-2025
Applications are now open for the Sustaining Tenancies Grant Funding Programme, which aims to support initiatives that help individuals maintain their housing and strengthen tenancy resilience.
The programme focuses on several priority areas, including support for tenants dealing with addictions or severe mental health issues. It also prioritizes early tenancy support to help individuals build the skills needed to sustain their housing and establish connections within their communities. Practical support services, such as handyperson help or discounted gardening services, are also included. Additionally, projects that assist tenants living in rural areas are encouraged.
Funding is available for projects lasting up to 36 months. Grants can range from £5,000 to £100,000 over the full duration of the project. Interested groups are invited to submit expressions of interest.
Eligible applicants include constituted community, voluntary, and charitable groups based in Northern Ireland. This includes Housing Community Network groups, residents’ groups, social enterprises with charitable status, registered charities, and Community Interest Companies limited by guarantee. Applicants must provide documentation confirming their status, and eligibility checks will be carried out.
Collaborative projects involving two or more eligible organisations are welcome. However, a lead organisation must be identified to handle payment processing and assume project responsibility if funding is awarded.
The programme does not support activities that offer no clear benefit to tenants or duplicate existing services such as financial inclusion, benefits advice, or hoarding support. Projects unrelated to tenancy sustainment or resilience, as well as costs already funded through other sources, fundraising activities, or events, are also ineligible for support.
