The Wellcome Trust is inviting applications for the Research Awards for Health Professionals that offers practising health professionals the opportunity to carry out humanities or social science research, in any area of health.
Benefits
- An award will not usually be above £350,000. Support includes:
- a basic salary (determined by their host organisation)
- personal removal expenses
- research expenses
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant can apply for a Research Award if applicant have completed general medical, dental, veterinary, nursing, clinical, or any other professional health training. Applicant should be a practising health professional with some research experience.
- Applicant must also have sponsorship from an eligible host organisation in the UK, Republic of Ireland or a low- or middle-income country.
- Applicant’s research can address a real-life issue in a professional practice, or be conceptual and/or historical in scope.
- When they consider applicant’s application, they will assess:
- the significance of their proposed research
- the strength of their approach
- Applicant’s track record
- the suitability of the host environment for their research.
