Deadline: 03-Nov-2025
The Leeds Building Society Foundation is inviting applications for its small grants program to help UK registered charities provide safe and secure homes for those in need.
The focus areas include financial stress, security and refuge, quality and suitability of housing, and health and wellbeing support for those experiencing homelessness if it is part of wraparound support and the application also meets at least one of the other themes. Applications are welcomed from charities that take a Housing First and/or relationship-based approach, and evidence of strength-based practice, trauma-informed care, and psychologically-informed environments is encouraged.
Small grants of up to £1,000 are available and must be used for capital expenditure, meaning the purchase of items directly used to support people in need, rather than covering a charity’s running costs. Eligible applicants must be UK registered charities with a turnover of less than £1 million.
The Leeds Building Society Foundation has been supporting local projects and good causes since 1999, donating more than £2 million to 3,000 initiatives across the UK. Its focus, since 2022, has been on helping people in need of a safe and secure home. The Foundation is run independently by a board of eight trustees who review applications every three months, with funding provided by Leeds Building Society and member donations through the Your Interest in Theirs scheme.
Exclusions to funding include religious, military, or political projects, charities or projects based overseas, individuals, animal welfare projects, local Scouts, Brownies or Girlguiding groups, medical research, retrospective costs, and charities or projects that do not align with the Foundation’s purpose.
