Deadline: 04-Oct-2024
The French Embassy in Georgia has chosen to dedicate the 2024 edition of the Human Rights Prize to projects promoting inclusion for everyone through sports, in light of the 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games being held in Paris this summer.
Sport is recognized as a factor of integration and social inclusion, and sports activities are essential to social life, providing opportunities for engagement and personal development. To put sport at the heart of society means making it accessible to everyone, especially those who need it most, starting with people with disabilities.
On the occasion of the 2024 Olympics and Paralympics, France has already committed to various directions to ensure full inclusion of everyone within the framework of the competitions. Modern and inclusive infrastructure, accommodations for all types of disabilities, accessibility of transportation and public venues, inclusion of Paralympic emojis among the 3,000 already listed—everything is set to make these Games a celebration of inclusion and diversity.
