The Mobilize Power Fund is a rapid-response grant project designed to support gender justice movements across the United States and its territories.
It provides flexible funding when organizations—especially those led by young women of color, trans, intersex, queer, or gender nonconforming individuals under 35—face unexpected opportunities or threats and need to pivot quickly in their activism.
Grants are available up to $10,000 per group, while partnerships or coalitions can apply for up to $20,000. The fund is specifically tailored for emergent, urgent work—like healing justice, direct action, mutual aid, community accountability, or conflict mediation—that responds to unforeseen circumstances from the last six months.
Applications are welcomed several times a year, each aligned with fixed monthly deadlines. Applicants may submit proposals via written narrative, video, or phone, using an accessible portal and choosing the format that works best for them. Decisions typically follow within four to six weeks, with funds distributed soon afterward.
Applicants do not need formal nonprofit status or a fiscal sponsor to qualify, which makes the fund particularly accessible to grassroots collectives. Preference is given to organizations deeply rooted in communities most impacted by gender oppression—those who can act nimbly and whose leadership reflects lived experience.
With its agile structure and emphasis on urgency, the Mobilize Power Fund fills a critical gap in philanthropic support—ensuring activists can adapt to fast-changing challenges and seize crucial moments for justice and transformation.
