The National Dam Safety Program (NDSP) State Assistance Grants provide funding to support the development and maintenance of strong state dam safety programs. These programs aim to protect human life and property and enhance overall dam safety efforts across states and territories.
The NDSP supports efforts to identify deficiencies and risks in existing dams. It also seeks to raise public awareness about both the benefits and potential hazards of dam infrastructure. Additionally, it promotes advancements in dam safety practices and risk management.
The total estimated funding available for this program is $7,480,000. Awards are expected to range from $40,000 to $550,000 for eligible projects.
Eligibility is limited to state governments and U.S. territories, including the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, the Northern Mariana Islands, and any other U.S. possession.
