2023 Appscale Academy Program in India

Applications are now open for the 2023 Appscale Academy Program.

A growth and development program by Google in partnership with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) Startup Hub. 100 early to mid-stage startups across India will be trained and mentored to build high-quality apps for India and the world.

They have put together a customized curriculum, including virtual instructor-led webinars, self-learning material, and mentorship sessions with leading local and global professionals from Google and the Industry.

Program Overview

• The curated, 6 month training program will identify, support and nurture promising Indian startups to supercharge their growth on Android.
• Below are the 6 key pillars around which the program support is structured:
  • App Quality
  • Go Global
  • Growth User Acquisition and Monetization
  • App Design
  • Google Play Policy
  • Data Safety Best Practices

Benefits

• After a 3 month program comprising virtual and  in-person coaching, courses, and training workshops with the selected 100 startups, a selection committee will further shortlist a group of startups (not more than 30) that will receive additional program benefits. This group will get selected basis fixed criteria that will get disclosed at the onset of the program. The decisions of this committee in this regard are final.
• This is a 6 month program however changes may happen due to unforeseen events or circumstances beyond the control.

Eligibility Criteria

• Any Indian app developer with a published app on the Google Play Store, and having a company preferably not more than 7 years old, willing to commit to a 6- month training and mentorship program.
• This program is only open for app developers in India.
• To be eligible for selection to the Program, the following conditions must be satisfied throughout the duration of the Program:
  • Businesses should be duly registered, and have its headquarters, in India. Representatives must be at least 18 years of age.
    • You must have a published app on the Play Store.
    • You must have an app driven business.
    • Your business, preferably, should not be more than 7 years old.
    • You should have completed all the mandatory fields in the application form.
    • Your business should not have received any funding from Google or its affiliates in the past.
    • Your app complies with all Google Play Developer Policies.
  • Representative acknowledge that any Program benefits will inure to their Business and not to them individually.
  • All determinations of eligibility will be made at Google’s sole and absolute discretion, acting reasonably. Google reserves the right to verify eligibility and to adjudicate on any related dispute at any time. No correspondence will be entered into.
