Deadline: 5-Oct-22
DSEU Innovation and Incubation Centre for Entrepreneurship (DIICE) in partnership with Hero MotoCorp is excited to introduce ‘EVitalize 2022 – Powering What’s Next’, a showcase of EV innovation.
The hackathon aims to promote the drive towards sustainability by solving real-world challenges as identified by the industry. The purpose is to empower their Indian EV industry with the best technological advancements developed indigenously. The participants must come up with innovative and viable technical solutions / business models to provide Indian manufacturers with a long-term competitive edge in the global market.
Main Themes
- Battery Management System: The options of cell chemistries & architecture in Battery Technologies are continuously expanding. Development of new BMS for each combination of cell chemistry/architecture adds to development and New Product Introduction (NPI) lead time.
- Telematics Control Unit: Telematics units wake up at a certain frequency and send the data to the cloud at a certain frequency. Even when the vehicle is not being used/in storage, the battery draws some current. Therefore, the connected vehicle needs constant power for telematics unit activation.
- Battery Thermal Management: Thermal runaway is one of the prime concerns in EVs and hence, needs.
- EV Charging:
- Charging time is one of the limiting factors for higher EV adoption. Propose innovative solutions for the reduction/ optimization of charging time to accelerate adoption.
- With increasing EV penetration, power consumption and peak load demand will continue to increase. Solutions for offsetting peak load EV charging demand & utilizing renewable power sources. Concepts like Vehicle to Grid, Smart Grid solutions, Load Balancing, etc. can be leveraged.
