Objectives
Generate a socioeconomic impact in Chile, through support for innovative technological ventures that allow the sophistication and/or diversification of the country’s economic matrix, through financial support and acceleration services provided by Start-Up Chile.
Specific Objectives
- Exponentially accelerate the growth in sales of innovative technological ventures.
- Attract and retain advanced human capital in ventures supported by the program.
- Increase capital investment in supported ventures.
- Commercial expansion to international markets.
- Contribute to the growth of a sustainable, democratic and diverse entrepreneurship ecosystem, facilitating instances of connection between entrepreneurs, investors, companies and organizations.
- Contribute to the positioning of Chile as a benchmark in innovation and Technological entrepreneurship worldwide.
Funding Information
- Corfo Subsidy for the Beneficiary
- Corfo will co-finance up to 50.00% of the total cost of the project, with a maximum of up to $75,000,000 – (seventy-five million Chilean pesos). Regarding the project leader whose registered sex is female, Corfo will co-finance up to 60.00% of the total cost of the project.
- Likewise, CORFO may determine for each call a maximum co-financing amount lower than that indicated in the preceding paragraph, which will be determined through an administrative act, and will be informed in the respective publication made for each call for tenders.
- Overhead payment to the Sponsoring Entity for Start-Up Chile
- The Sponsoring Entity will receive, as Overhead, a payment based on the services provided to the beneficiary, for the provision of infrastructure, supervision, support for monitoring and administration of the project, after evaluation by Corfo.
- The amount per Overhead assigned per project may not exceed $9,000,000 – (nine million pesos).
Expected Results
- Formalization in Chile of companies with the intention of expanding operations inour country.
- Recruitment of advanced human capital.
- Connectionof the projects with the national ecosystem, with participation in meetings with potential investors and organizations, with the intention of raising capital and/or generating new clients and partners.
- Growth in sales and/or capital raising.
- Retention of employment in Chile.
Activities
During their participation in the Program and during the execution period of the project, at least the Team Leader must necessarily participate in the following activities:
- Execution of the project in the territory of the Republic of Chile.
- Execution of activities necessary to fulfill the goals proposed in the project.
- Attendance at the induction presentation on the Start-Up Chile Program (Orientation Day), in which the team, the social impact system, acceleration and workshops on accountability will be presented and explained, on the date duly informed to the beneficiary.
- Meetings with the technical and/or financial executive to account for all the resources granted, including the one that accounts for the Final Report.
- Council sessions, where the beneficiaries must present progress and they will receive feedback from Corfo and/or from support mentors.
- Other activities of the Start-Up Chile Program that are classified as mandatory by Corfo, a circumstance that will be timely communicated to the beneficiary.
Eligibility Criteria
- Regarding applications whose beneficiary is a natural person:
- That the beneficiary corresponds only to a Chilean or foreign natural person who, at the time of application, is over 18 years of age.
- Regarding applications whose beneficiary is a legal person:
- That the beneficiary corresponds only to a for-profit legal entity, incorporated in Chile, at the time of the application.
- That the team leader corresponds only to a natural person.
