Deadline: 28-Nov-2025
UN Women has launched a new call for proposals inviting civil society organizations in Bosnia and Herzegovina to contribute to strengthening the leadership and political participation of women and adolescent girls.
Through a new call for proposals, one registered civil society organization will be selected to design and implement a comprehensive programme that empowers women and adolescent girls to take active roles in public and political life. The initiative seeks to enhance leadership skills, foster civic engagement, and strengthen mentoring networks that connect aspiring leaders with experienced women in politics and community development.
Civil society organizations with a strong background in women’s empowerment, curriculum development, and community engagement are encouraged to apply. The total budget available for this project ranges between 240,000 and 260,000 BAM. UN Women is looking for a partner that brings creativity, innovation, and a deep understanding of local realities. This opportunity represents a significant step toward building a more inclusive and equitable society where women and girls are empowered to lead, influence, and inspire change.
The project will run for a period of ten and a half months, beginning in mid-January 2026 and concluding by the end of November 2026. The selected partner will be responsible for organizing and delivering civic education and leadership training sessions, as well as for building strong support systems that encourage women and girls to participate confidently in decision-making processes. The approach will be gender-transformative and inclusive, tailored to reflect the unique social and political context of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This opportunity aims to strengthen democratic governance by ensuring that women and girls in all their diversity can influence and shape decisions that affect their lives. It places special emphasis on reaching those most at risk of exclusion, such as Roma women, rural women, women with disabilities, and members of national minorities. By promoting equal participation, the initiative hopes to create a culture of accountability and shared responsibility in communities, where political representation becomes both meaningful and transformative.
The results of the partnership will be measured by the number of women and girls reached through civic education, leadership training, and networking events. It will also assess the development of new policies that promote youth and girls’ political participation and the certification of trainers who will continue to deliver political leadership programmes beyond the project’s duration. Through these outcomes, the initiative seeks to leave a lasting impact that extends far beyond its implementation period.
