The Sport Projects Grant in Saskatoon provides a valuable opportunity for local sports organizations to strengthen their capacity and support the well-being of the community.
The program is designed to help Saskatoon-based groups enhance sports programming, develop new initiatives, and foster greater participation across the city.
Funding is available for up to 75% of eligible project costs, with a maximum grant of $10,000 per successful application. This financial support allows organizations to expand programs, purchase equipment, improve facilities, or implement innovative sports projects that benefit the community.
Eligible applicants include registered non-profit sports organizations in Saskatoon whose primary mandate is to deliver sports programming and who are overseen by a provincial or national governing body. Organizations must be incorporated either federally or with the Information Services Corporation in Saskatchewan and have been in existence for at least one year. Proper liability and participant insurance must be in place, and any previous grants from the City of Saskatoon must be up-to-date and in good standing. Saskatoon chapters of larger provincial or national organizations can also apply if supporting documentation from the parent body is provided.
Certain applicants are not eligible for this funding. Individual zones, individual applicants, and organizations outside the sports sector—including health districts, libraries, private schools, government agencies, universities, and other educational institutions—cannot apply.
This grant offers Saskatoon sports organizations the chance to enhance their programs, support community engagement, and contribute to the overall health and well-being of residents through sports and recreational activities.
