The City of Bunbury has announced the 2020-2021 Community Capacity and Resilience Grant Program.
The impacts and effects of COVID-19 have been felt on a global scale. Whilst every nation has their own unique challenges, one that is shared is the need for support towards the revitalization and recovery of the community for a new way of life.
For the City of Bunbury, major impacts are being felt particularly by the local businesses and community groups/organisations. To assist in combatting the devastation of this pandemic, the City of Bunbury have implemented an additional grant opportunity, launching the Community Capacity and Resilience grant. The City will provide financial support to help Community groups and organisations strengthen and adapt in response to the impact of COVID-19. This opportunity is open to not-for-profit organisations/community groups or groups auspiced by a not-for-profit incorporated organisation within the City of Bunbury.
In line with the City’s core values and together with the local community, The City of Bunbury(COB) would like to work collaboratively to help reshape and rise through this unprecedented situation of COVID-19.

Funding Information
- The applicant may apply for up to $5,000 (exc GST) for one of the given categories.
- A total funding pool of $90,000 is available.
Activities must achieve one or more of the following:
- Support the human/social needs of the community.
- Innovative ideas to expand or adapt to the new environment.
- Build community capacity and encourage collaboration and connection.
- Build capacity and/or up-skill the organisation/community group and its members.
- Contribute to the recovery and regeneration of the Bunbury community.
- Facilitate inclusion and equitable access.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible to receive a Community Grant from the City, the Applicant must:
- Be an incorporated not-for-profit organisation or community group; or a group auspiced by an incorporated not-for-profit organisation
- Primary address to be within the City of Bunbury
- Submit an application through the City’s grant management portal, SmartyGrants – bunbury
- Have all appropriate insurance and licenses relevant to their work
- Carry out the activity (or significant portion) within the City of Bunbury boundaries from 1 September 2020 to 31 August 2021
- Agree to the terms and conditions of the funding agreement
