Hydro Tasmania is inviting applications for its Community Grants Program for not-for-profit community organizations based in Tasmania to help fund projects that make a real difference for people and communities.
Categories
There are two categories of grants available:
- Innovation grant: The innovation grant is specifically aimed at helping organizations adapt and achieve better outcomes.
- Community grants: The community grants support defined community projects, including those that help with the recovery from the ongoing impacts of COVID-19.
Funding Information
- Innovation grant: Grant amount: up to $10,000
- Community grants: Grant amount: up to $5,000
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be a community-serving, not-for-profit organization, that is either:
- registered with the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission (ACNC); or
- a community service organization exempt from paying income tax under the Income Tax Assessment Act 1997 (Cth).
- Organizations or the proposed project must be based in Tasmania.
- For the innovation grants, organizations must be able to demonstrate that COVID-19 has negatively impacted its services and how the funding will mitigate this.
- For the community grants, there must be a defined project that will create a positive outcome for the community.
Ineligible applications include:
- Projects where there is a direct benefit to a business or an individual.
- Projects that benefit a political party.
- Applications from a commercial or for-profit organization.
- Fundraising campaigns, prizes, or gifts.
- Strategic, business, or communication plans or feasibility studies or any other study that does not result in a direct outcome to the community.
- Applications to cover expenses that were incurred before the COVID-19 restrictions (March 2020).
