Applications for 2022 Proudly Unstoppable Women-Owned Business Grants Program are now open.
WEConnect International is a global network that connects women-owned businesses to qualified buyers around the world.
Program Rules
- Timeline: The 2022 Proudly Unstoppable Women-Owned Business Grants by UPS will be open from February 15, 2022, to February 25, 2022.
- Selection: At the close of the submission period, the applications that have met all eligibility requirements will be reviewed and judged on the following criteria:
- Evidence of financial need to grow
- Demonstration of how the grant will be used including how results will be measured
- Finalists from each country will be selected and contacted via email no later than March 11, 2022, to confirm the final grant recipients.
- WEConnect International Certified businesses will be prioritized throughout the program.
- Grant Amount: The amount of each grant will be up to $5,000 USD, payable by wire transfer.
- Announcement: The grant recipients will be announced publicly by WEConnect International and/or UPS in March of 2022.
Eligibility Criteria
- Businesses with headquarters in the following countries are eligible to apply: Canada, United States and Germany.
- Businesses that are at least 51% owned, managed and controlled by one or more women are eligible to apply if they are certified or registered with WEConnect International prior to submission of Application. Not yet certified? Start the process today by registering for free! (US-based businesses are eligible if they are certified by WBENC).
- Businesses must have a minimum of one year in business.
- All business sectors are eligible to apply. The program is not restricted to current or potential suppliers to UPS.
- There is a limit of only one application per business entity and the application must be made by the principal business owner. Employees of the businesses are ineligible.
- Failure to meet these requirements will result in your application being disqualified.
- Any business that is selected as a Grant Recipient Finalist will be asked to provide an audited or notarized profit and loss statement, business banking information for the grant wire transfer and a WBENC certificate (US-based businesses only). Failure to do so by the required deadline will disqualify the application. The bank account information provided must be registered under the legal or operating name of the business. No personal bank account will be accepted.
Terms and Conditions
- Any and all other costs associated with submission of the Application shall be borne solely by Applicant.
- The grant recipient decision is final and conclusive in all circumstances and no correspondence will be entered into.
- When applicable, the Parties may offer Recipient a Grant. Such Grant is not transferable to another individual or business. The Grant is subject to availability and the Parties reserve the right to amend or alter the Grant or revoke the Grant from Applicants not entering into the spirit of the program.
- Applicant acknowledges that there may be restrictions that prevent WEConnect International from paying the Grant to an account controlled by the Recipient in certain countries. In addition, there may be other restrictions that prevent payment of the Grant that WEConnect International is not currently aware of.
- If the Recipient is unwilling or unable to accept the grant requirements, such potential Recipient may be disqualified and all privileges otherwise due as a Recipient may be terminated and an alternative Recipient may be chosen from among all of the remaining eligible entries received if time permits in the Parties’ sole discretion.
- Recipient is responsible for any and all costs associated with payment and receipt of the grant, including all income tax obligations. WEConnect International does not bear responsibility for any costs incurred by the Recipient to receive the grant. In the event of a dispute, WEConnect International has the right to make the final decision.
- Applicant acknowledges and agrees that WEConnect International, in its sole discretion, reserves the right to change any and all aspects of the Program, including but not limited to, the Program name, themes, content, and promotion. WEConnect International is entitled to cancel the Program at any time for good cause (e.g., in cases of force majeure, too few applications, change in funding, etc.). In such a case, Applicants will be informed immediately of the cancellation.
