The British Council is launching the 2nd wave of competitions for social action projects in the regions of Ukraine to improve the life of the community in the area, and is able to implement it in cooperation with local authorities, offer it at the regional pitching and receive funds for implementation!
Priorities
Projects can be aimed at:
- Strengthening social cohesion in Ukraine;
- Creation and strengthening of connections between volunteers, city authorities, business and other participants of social processes;
- Intercultural dialogue between different social groups in Ukraine;
- Supporting older people and promoting inclusion (increasing equal access to the community, including people with disabilities);
- Promoting youth development, promoting active citizenship and forming leadership qualities;
- Promoting the mental health of community members in conditions of social distancing;
- Promoting gender equality and ensuring equal rights and opportunities;
- Promoting the improvement of the environment.
Funding Information
- The British Council provides up to UAH 35,000 for one social action project.
- The application must provide for co-financing of at least 20% of the British Council contribution (both in cash and in kind) from the project team, other partners or the authorities.
Who can Participate?
- Active citizens over the age of 18 can take part in pitching, as well as teams of citizens who are planning a social action project for the development of their community and want to receive financial support for its implementation.
Requirements
- The project must be based on generally accepted social values, be well-planned and relate to local-global relations.
- Projects should focus on improving the lives of citizens, especially young people, developing cooperation with the authorities to address issues and achieve a common goal.
- Projects should involve active cooperation with government officials.
- They invite you to submit new initiatives to participate in the competition, as well as initiatives that are already under implementation.
- They recommend submitting projects that will take place online or in a mixed format without holding mass events. It is allowed to carry out repair work or other actions that do not involve a mass gathering of people in one room. The implementation of the PSD should be in accordance with the requirements of the Ministry of Health regarding behavior during the Covid-19 pandemic and should not endanger human health.
