The Tasmanian Government’s Agricultural Show Development Grants Program is now open to secure the future of their agricultural shows so they can continue to bring together regional communities into the future.
Catogeries
- Infrastructure projects: Upgrading and maintaining existing infrastructure, or constructing new infrastructure, to meet safety (including COVID-19 safety) and compliance standards, enhance amenity or expand capacity. While the infrastructure being upgraded needs to support the operation of the annual agricultural show and its sustainability, preference will be given to projects that demonstrate a benefit to a wider range of facility users (such as animal show societies or markets).
- Improved organizational governance, planning and/or use of technology: Funding is available to assist agricultural show societies to improve the way their organization operates.
Funding Information
Applicants can apply for one grant under each category.The total funding available under the program is $250,000 and the maximum funding available to each applicant is $25,000. Projects must be completed by 30 June 2023.
- Infrastructure projects: Applicant may apply for either of the below funding options for infrastructure projects:
- up to $5,000 (Category 1A); gold
- $5,001 to $25,000(Category 1B)
- Improved organizational governance, planning and/or use of technology: Applicants may apply for up to $10,000 under this category.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be:
- A show society which conducts an annual agricultural show;
- Affiliate , or eligible to be affiliated, with Tasmanian Agricultural Shows;
- An incorporated, not-for-profit organisation, or auspiced by an Incorporated and/or not-for-profit organisation; and
- Pro posing to hold an agriculture show in 2022-23 and/or 2023-24.
- Applicants must have appropriate levels of Public Liability Insurance. A copy of the applicant’s current Public Liability Insurance cover must be attached to the application.
- For infrastructure projects, applicants who do not own their property must include:
- Written permission from the land-owner for any infrastructure work to be undertaken; and
- Evidence of the current lease arrangement.
