Funded by the Scottish Government’s Rural Community-Led Fund, applications are being invited from constituted community groups, charities, co-operatives, public sector organisations, and micro and small sized enterprises throughout Angus (excluding the Cairngorms National Park area).
Priorities
All projects must demonstrate that they advance equality, diversity and inclusion. In addition, they must deliver on at least one of the following Scottish Government priorities:
- Rural Poverty (including child and fuel poverty)
- Net Zero and Climate Emergency
- Covid Recovery
- Youth Development
- Community Wealth Building
- Local Democracy and Governance, Community Empowerment
- Wellbeing Economy
- Inclusive Growth (including Community-Led Tourism)
- Rural Entrepreneurial Activity
Funding Information
- Grants between £10,000 and £50,000 will apply.
- A minimum contribution of 10% match funding is desired but not essential.
Activities
- Capacity building to ‘unlock’ projects (e.g. feasibility studies, pre-construction works, options appraisals)
- Community Consultation exercises (e.g. employing a Community Engagement Officer or appointing a Consultant to undertake community consultations)
- Quick win capital work for community spaces (e.g. improving spaces, purchasing equipment)
Eligible Areas: The eligible area will be Angus excluding the Cairngorms National Park. Priority will be given to applications that specifically benefit residents living and working in rural areas.
Eligibility Criteria

Applications can be made by any of the following organisations:
- SMEs (limited companies, partnerships or sole traders)
- Public Sector organisations
- Co-operatives
- Charities registered in Scotland
- Constituted community groups
- Individuals, unconstituted groups and political or campaigning groups are not eligible for funding. Religious groups will not be ordinarily eligible, unless broad community benefit can be demonstrated.

As part of the application, applicants will be required to provide the following:
- Governing Documents (e.g. Constitution or Memorandum and Articles of Association)
- List of Directors/Trustees/Committee
- Relevant organisational policies (e.g. equal opportunities, health & safety, child protection, environmental)
- Most recent set of Annual Accounts
- Bank statements for the last 3 months
- Evidence of land ownership/lease agreements
- Quotes for every cost item (a minimum of two quotes will be required for each cost item. If two have not been provided, then an explanation why must be provided.)
- Confirmation of match funding
- Details of in-kind contributions
- Letters of Support
- Evidence of demand/need (e.g. consultation, research, surveys)
