The First Peoples’ Cultural Council (FPCC) Indigenous Music Grants to provide funding to support creating, performing, recording, touring and marketing music in Canada.
Indigenous Music Grants support individual artists and groups residing in B.C. who are undertaking creation, performance, recording, touring and promotions/marketing activities in Canada. This program supports Indigenous artists at all stages of their career. These activities can lead to professional development opportunities, cultural knowledge transfer and community well-being.

The program will support the following initiatives, in combination or on their own:
- Creation: Creation of new work by individual artists and groups: For Indigenous musicians who show a commitment to their art and are working to develop their practice through mentorship, study or exploration of a new opportunity.
- Recording of music by individual artists and groups: For Indigenous musicians who have a plan, or wish to develop a plan, for recording and sharing their work. This can include mixing, editing and mastering. Applicants must provide a realistic and balanced budget. The Arts Program Coordinator is available to provide coaching support for this requirement.
Funding Information
- Indigenous Music Grants are available up to a maximum of $20,000.
Eligibility Criteria
- Individual artists and groups residing in B.C. who are undertaking creation, performance, recording, touring and promotions/marketing activities in Canada. This program supports artists at all stages of their career.
- Applicants are not eligible to apply if they have outstanding final reports from previous programs. Program applications are deemed ineligible pending the approval of overdue final reports from previous programs.
- Individuals cannot be the primary contact or project lead for more than one application in the same program round but may be involved in more than one project if they are in a different role.

Applicants to this program must:
- Show a demonstrated commitment to their music practice
- Clearly articulate their intention to develop their relationship with music, or to advance within the music industry
- Include a detailed, achievable project description, plan or itinerary, along with a detailed budget
