Applications are now open for the Leeds Inspired Small Grants Program 2021 to support arts events and arts projects taking place in Leed.
Funding Information
- The Leeds Inspired Small Grant Scheme accepts applications for arts projects grants of between £100 and £1200.
What they fund?
Leeds Inspired aims to promote access to the arts. The scheme aims to achieve a balance of creative opportunities across the city for the benefit of all communities. They fund activities that increase access to arts and enable people to take part fully and with greater confidence. Funds are for new activity or additions to existing events. They do not fund repeat activity. You can apply for grants for arts-related activities for example:
- Performances;
- Exhibitions;
- Participatory arts project work;
- Arts workshops;
- Events and arts education activities;
- Research and Development;
- Online arts-based activity (remember, online content must be arts-focused).
What they will not Fund?
- Activities not related to the arts;
- Activities with insufficient planning time;
- Activities that provide no benefit or engagement opportunity to the people of Leeds;
- Activities or events that take place in schools/colleges/educational establishments unless open to the wider public;
- Activities, including buying goods or services, which take place before they have decided about your application;
- Activities, equipment or events that duplicate existing work;
- Core costs, including general running costs, that are already covered by other funding or that should be covered by the organizations own resources;
- Ongoing overheads relating to equipment or buildings, such as insurance, building repairs and maintenance costs;
- Core costs for festivals or events such as stages, generators, toilets;
- The activity taking place outside Leeds;
- Applications, where the main focus is substantial capital, spend for equipment;
- Charity fund-raising events;
- Individual tuition, training or research;
- Sports events, kit or equipment;
- Applications for party political or religious purposes.
Eligibility Criteria
Applications are welcome for non-profit making projects or events that work with artists. These projects may be organized by:
- Individuals (you will need to demonstrate your previous experience of running similar projects and budgets);
- Arts organizations;
- Community or voluntary groups;
- Commercial organizations who wish to run a non-profit arts project;
- Groups of organizations (one will need to take the lead and have the main responsibility for managing the application and any grant).
Who cannot apply?
- Educational establishments (schools, colleges, universities);
- Organizations resident outside the UK;
- Closed membership groups whose activities do not reach a wider public;
- Leeds City Council – unless working in partnership with an outside organization.
