Apply for ArtsKC Mission Support Grant in the US

ArtsKC Mission Support Grants are investments in people, programs and projects that make the arts more accessible, that sustain a vibrant and thriving arts community, and that support traditions of excellence as well as innovation and entrepreneurship in the arts.

• Grants range from $1,000 to $5,000. The amount of your grant will be no more than 10% of the total operating expenses of your most recent fiscal year. Exceptions to this policy may be made under special circumstances for organizations with previous year revenues of less than $10,000. Due to the high number of worthy requests received, most grants are less than $5,000.
• Grants are paid in two payments. The grant recipient must return a signed grant agreement and W-9 in order to receive the first payment of 80%. To receive the second payment of 20%, the grantee must turn in an Impact Report, which must be approved by ArtsKC. Please allow two weeks after submitting grant agreements and final reports to process checks.
• In 2021-2022, they made 57 general operating support grants to applicants totaling $137,800. The average grant amount was $2,418. Approximately 65% of applicants in this category received a grant of any amount.

• Be a registered not-for-profit arts organization
• Be principally located in the five-county Kansas City metropolitan area (Clay, Jackson, Johnson, Platte, Wyandotte)
• Have a governing body with bylaws
• Be founded before 2019 (thus, have at least two years of financial records and established history of programming)
