As a regional ecosystem builder, AVPN has launched the Youth Mental Wellbeing Philanthropic Pooled Fund to increase accessibility of youth mental wellbeing services across the region.
In Asia, problems arising from poor mental health and wellbeing are the second largest contributor to years of health life lost to disability and many treatment gaps still persist.
The goal is to raise USD 3 million to strengthen and scale transformative impact organizations that are working to address accessibility to quality, evidence-based mental health services for youth communities in Asia.
Besides deploying financial capital through the fund, they will also work with the funders to provide non-financial support to grantees through corporate volunteering engagement opportunities.
Thematic Areas
- Non-Profit Impact Organizations championing youth mental health and wellbeing may focus on the following sub thematics. Do note that this list is non-exhaustive:

- With this fund, they are committed to tackling challenges youth face in the mental health and wellbeing space to:
- Improve individual mental health and wellbeing outcomes for youth
- Advances SDG 3 and SDG 17 for youths in vulnerable communities in Asia.
- Improve equity levels of mental wellbeing among vulnerable communities in Asia
- In achieving these youth mental health outcomes also have spillover effects in other areas, such as education, livelihood, and poverty alleviation.

Funding Information
- They welcome grant asks that average around USD 230,000 across three years.

Eligibility Criteria
- They’re seeking to support Impact Organizations championing for accessible and scalable youth mental wellbeing/health services who meet the baseline eligibility criteria:
- Registered Non-Profit Organisation/Charity/Intermediary (Non-Profit) working with impact organizations within the focus area of this fund.
- Operates in Singapore, Malaysia, and India with the following annual operating budgets in the last 1 year
- Organizations with more than three (3) years of youth mental wellbeing engagement experience
- Apart from the baseline criteria, the fund will only support the following types of organizations:
- Small and medium non-profit organizations
- They understand that the definition of small and medium organizations differ across markets and will be considered during the application review process.
- At a minimum, they are looking for organizations that are at least three (3) years in operations, and will be able to provide audited financial statements of the last two (2) years.
- Large international non-governmental organizations
- International NGOs can apply through their branch offices if the offices are registered locally.
- However, please ensure that your organization is registered as a non-profit before applying.
- In addition, NGOs in India must have the following:
- Obtained a valid FCRA for legal compliance
- Have an SBI account that can receive foreign funding.
- Small and medium non-profit organizations
- If you are a legally registered non-profit intermediary with operations in the target markets of the fund, you are eligible to apply. In your application, you will be required to state how you are working with other organizations that you support and how their work is contributing towards improving women’s economic empowerment in the target markets. Additionally, you will be asked to articulate how the funds will aid in your efforts to continue to build and grow these organizations.
Ineligibility Criteria
- Should not be the following:
- Religious organization (eg church, synagogue, mosque etc.)
- Consortium (only single application is allowed)
- Included in the US or EU sanctions list, nor blacklisted by any UN or international agency
