Armidale Regional Council is inviting applications from Not-for-profit organisations and community groups in the Armidale region.
The grant is designed to support the local community in its ongoing recovery and resilience building after the 2019/2020 bushfires, and directly assist community groups who would otherwise financially struggle during this time to facilitate their programs and projects.
Not-for-profit organisations and community groups in the Armidale region are invited to submit applications for projects that contribute to the regions recovery following natural disaster events.
The aim of the BCRRF Community Grants Program is to:
- Support communities overcome the social impacts of the bushfires from 31 August 2019 onwards. Provide support for locally led community recovery and/or resilience activities.
- Contribute to addressing the needs of vulnerable groups in disaster recovery.
- Support community awareness of the disaster recovery processes.
- Improve community capacity and capability to respond to future disasters.
- Support the development of recovery initiatives or programs which demonstrate community cooperation between a number of local groups and organisations.
- Provide seed-funding support for programs which have specific and long-lasting recovery and/or resilience benefits to the community.
- Support one (or more) of the goals outlined in Council’s Community Strategic Plan.
Funding Information
- The maximum awarded to any one application is $5,000.
Ineligible Funding
Funding will not be given for:
- Travel expenses.
- Public liability insurance.
- Activities which are eligible for funding under other Council funding sources
- Ongoing operational or administration costs, including wages.
NOTE: Not all applications submitted will be fully funded and in some circumstances partial funding will be offered.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, the applicant must:
- Be locally based.
- Must offer an activity or program within the LGA of Armidale Regional Council.
- Demonstrate that their activity or program provides direct benefits to the Armidale Regional community and outline the aims and objectives of the project or activity.
- Identify who the target population is.
- Be a not-for-profit organisation.
Ineligible Applicants
- Individuals.
- Organisations which are the responsibility of the state and federal governments or who already receive substantial non-government funding.
- Profit-making organisations and commercial ventures.
- Groups already receiving substantial support from Council.
- Applicants who have not acquitted previous grants.
- Applications that request ongoing program funding
- Applications for projects and/or activities that are not related to the community recovery attributed to the bushfire event
- Applications that request covering existing debts or budget deficits.
- Applicants who fail to address the BCRRF Community Grants Application Requirements.
