The NSW Government is offering grants through its Arts and Cultural Funding Program (ACFP) to support innovation, vibrancy and creativity within the NSW arts and cultural sector.
Aims
Project funding aims to:
- deliver a dynamic and diverse range of arts and cultural experiences to communities across NSW
- contribute to the development of a vibrant and accessible arts and cultural sector
- support the employment and development of professional NSW-based artists and arts/cultural workers.
Objectives

Enhance creative leadership and programming excellence in NSW
- By fostering world-class arts and cultural ambition through investment in creative leadership and programming excellence – including artistic practices, the delivery of new work and programs that bring arts and culture to new audiences.
- By supporting organisations, artists and arts and cultural workers that represent a diversity of cultural and artistic practices and deliver creative encounters that help to build a cohesive and open society.
- By enabling organisations and artists to tell NSW stories that grow NSW’s cultural capacity.

Grow NSW arts and cultural activity that drives community and social benefits
- By acknowledging Aboriginal arts and culture as a key pillar of arts and culture in Australia and promoting new opportunities for self determined Aboriginal professional development, and leadership.
- By advancing arts and cultural activity that benefits the many people of NSW, including the wide variety of creative communities across the State. By enabling accessible, creative experiences that nurture skills, improve wellbeing and enable a widely engaged and diverse community of artists in NSW.
- By increasing equity of access to resources and opportunities among underrepresented groups across the state.

Strengthen NSW as a leader in arts and cultural governance and financial management
- By funding projects and programs that exemplify financial resilience backed by best-practice governance, budgeting, marketing and strategic planning that demonstrates increased creative production, sustainability and activation in NSW.
- By advocating for the continual improvement of the sector through activities that deliver professional development opportunities, strengthening leadership and delivery.
- By supporting projects that demonstrate their economic viability through strategic partnerships, a diversity of income streams and funding from alternative sources.
Key Priority Areas
The NSW Government is committed to ensuring fair access to funding by all communities and individuals across the state. Create NSW closely considers proposals that provide high-quality activity, respectful engagement, and participation with and for the following groups:
- NSW Aboriginal people
- people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CaLD) backgrounds
- people with disability and/or who are d/Deaf
- young people under the age of 25
- people living and/or working in regional NSW
- people living and/or working in Western Sydney
Funding Information
- Individual and Groups Project funding of up to $60,000.
Eligible Projects
- Your project must be a clearly defined arts and cultural activity.

Funding is available for a wide range of arts and cultural activities (but not limited to):
- creative development
- public presentation
- commissioning professional artists
- community collaborations/partnerships
- research and/or development
- audience engagement
Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to submit for Project funding, you need to meet the following two criteria:
- an Australian citizen or permanent resident and
- a residence of NSW or have resided in NSW over the last 12 months

If applying as an Individual:
- You can apply with an Individual/Sole Trader ABN OR
- If you are the sole director of a private company, the ABN for that company

If applying as a Group, you can provide:
- A group members’ Individual/Sole Trader ABN OR
- A partnership ABN OR
- An Unincorporated Entity ABN

If you do not have an ABN and you are successful, you will need to either:
- Obtain an Individual/Sole Trader ABN, or
- Engage someone to administer the funding
Ineligible
- Have received Create NSW funding for the same project
- Do not meet the ABN requirements
- Funds being used for filmmaking, screen production, mainstream animation, or film festivals
- Are a current employee of Create NSW
- Have been employed by Create NSW within the last 6 months
